London rockers The Holloways will be bringing their unique brand of upbeat indie pop-rock to Newcastle University on Saturday May 3rd 2008.
The tour will showcase new tracks from their upcoming album, which is being recorded in the legendary Sawmill Studio in Cornwall, where classic rock albums by Supergrass, Muse and Oasis have also been made over the years.
Their debut album, ‘So This Is Great Britain?’ featured chart hits such as ‘Two Left Feet’ and ‘Generator’, the latter of which was named as NME’s 16th best song of the year in 2006 and perhaps surprisingly combines indie pop-rock with the cheerful sound of calypso.
2008 has already become an even bigger and better year for the band, with a more experimental album on the cards for June and a growing status as one of the capital’s hot young meteors to look out for.
With a reputation for fantastic live performances and a host of uplifting songs, The Holloways’ jaunt at Newcastle University looks set to inject fun back into the live music scene.
